I wish him luck and proud at what he has done here. Time for someone else to step up.

I certainly hope I'm wrong, but that would shock me. Julian Edelman and Danny Woodhead are proof enough that smaller players can be successful in the right system. I'm confident Ace can do the same or at least be a return specialist...my doubt is a team wanting him badly enough to draft him the first 2 nights.
I could be reading it wrong, but Spurrier Jr. seems skeptical too. He just tweeted...
I'll say this for Ace though. While I'm skeptical he'll go by the 3rd this year, I'm not sure he'd go any earlier next year either. Perhaps it's not such a bad idea to maximize his years getting paid.

I agree. He will have to have an amazing workout and combine to be a 2nd round guy. I tend to think once he gets all of his measurements and tests done he will be a late 3rd round to early 4th round guy.
Success in the NFL has as much to go with getting on the right team as it does being a great player. Hopefully a team like New England or Denver picks him up.
That is another reason I'm concerned about Clowney next year. He should be a top 5 pick. Normally historically bad teams draft that high. So Clowney could have a great season on a bad team and no one will really care.

Probably what he was thinking too. Plus players who see teammates go down with serious injuries are sometimes more likely to enter early. I'm sure watching Lattimore go through all he's been through had at least somewhat of an impact on his decision.
