This. If I had to pick a most talented team, I would even say '10.
Croom's recruits?  Mullen has had a full cycle of recruits flowing through Starkville shouldn't he have had better teams at some point then the ones he inherited?  Not taking shots just seriously wondering. Doesn't make sense.

You never know really.. Since we won this last one I look at how much we return compared to y'all and my initial thought is a W.. We weren't expected to win this last one before the season started or even four games in for that matter so it's honestly hard to say.  The Egg bowl is one of the least predictable rivalries in college football.
The question is do y'all have the remedy for replacing that "talented" secondary?

To answer your question, yes. Our Dline should be sick along with a more athletic LB Corp with both returning safeties we'll be a lot better on defense. Our entire Oline returns and the entire backfield we should be a better team.

Thought y'all lost 3 of 4 in secondary?  Broomfield, Slay, and Banks.  Only returning Nickoe Whitley.    Justin Cox should fill one of those voids. He is probably the most legit recruit outside of CJ that y'all signed.

Broomfield was out of position and was moved to nickel towards the end of the year.

Doesn't state lose a bunch on defense? Serious question.

Just going off last year I know but y'all were unimpressive on both sides of the ball down the stretch.

One Lb, two corners, a nickel back, and one DT.

Our talented secondary was so under utilized this year that no matter who we trot out there, we should be able to match the production just due to improvements in scheme, imo.

I keep seeing Rebels make sarcastic references to our secondary not being legitimate or whatever, but we in fact have the top 2 out of 3 CBs in the upcoming draft.
We are M-State.

You're right but for now and the foreseeable future everyone knows that Dan Mullen's most talented or what should have been his most talented team couldn't beat any team worth mentioning.

Really?  You were all telling us we were a six win team in the preseason...

This was not even close to Mullen's most talented team.  NOT EVEN CLOSE.  But I guess you would make that assumption, with us losing 3 starting OL, starting QB, starting NFL RB, starting first round DT, starting NFL SS, etc...

But of course, the wheels will fall off next year, when we lose 3 starting WR, 2 starting NFL corners, a starting LB, and a starting DT....

A good point that I would think few Rebs would dispute.

I think that has more to do with the way said secondary was murked in the Egg Bowl by Moncrief, Logan, Sanders, etc.

More to do with the dumb ass scheme it was coached in all season that put too much on the safeties and never allowed the corners to shine....

Since crootin is over. We beat the maroon douchebags in tennis this weekend 4-2. They better put all the eggs in the baseball basket if they want to salvage something in state this year

Congrats on evening the season series with us, since we already beat you last week.
