I heard from a client that he is walking on to our team with a chance to earn a scholarship? What is the deal with this kid? I remember as a freshman he seemed to be our ONLY receiver who could consistently get open with space, but Relf couldn't get the ball to him.

Even if he really does come back, any chance at all he gets in our rotation? Our receivers are going to blow next year, and I would think russell would be happy to have a WR who can actually get open.

Didn't he quit due to some personal issues or something?

Lord I hope so.  We could definitely use him.  I wonder if he will be classified as a junior or senior?

Yeah, now I remember, that was somewhat of an odd situation...

Did he come in with Bumphis and the crew? I know your clock starts the moment you step on campus. If he came in after those guys he'll only have a year to play.

He signed in 2010 and played in '10 and '11, so '12 could be called a RS year I think...

No, he was a true freshman the 1st gator bowl year (2010).  He'll be a senior then.  I didn't know if your clock stopped or not if you weren't in school.

It doesn't.  They could apply for a possible hardship after the year.

Still, if he played as a True freshman and True Soph. and he's only been gone a year, wouldn't that mean he still has 2 years of eligiblity?  5 years to play 4 right?  Doesn't seem like that would be any different than taking a RS year to me...

The only way it stops is if he takes a redshirt (5 for 4) he wasn't on a team to take a redshirt so the clock keeps going. State would have to apply after this year to get that year back claiming hardship.

IF he comes back and IF we/he want him to stay around an extra year getting a hardship doesn't seem that difficult for him. Seems like he needed to work through mental health issues, and that seems like a pretty real reason to get a hardship waiver, right?

I get you now.  Basically the whole thing is made harder by the fact that he completely quit the team and school to go along with it...

The NCAA approves the waiver so it could go either way.

I doubt he plays much WR but he'd be welcome to play special teams.

We have too many guys ready to fight for pt.  He is/was a talented athlete

Idk
