The crying douchebags in Seattle who wouldnt pass a tax to build a new arena, or even bother to fill the seats in the arena they had might be getting a team back.

A Seattle investor might bid on the Kings.

@FAN, you dont have to hate Clay Bennett anymore.

I hate the Maloofs. I hope someone will come in and keep the team in Sacramento. Seattle lost their team for a reason.

So thats your version of what happened to Seattle? Wow. Btw I don't want to get into it with you because we'll never agree. Clays emails with his partners say it all anyway.

If this does go down I wonder if Clay will give the SuperSonic history back to Seattle? He could mend a lot of wounds that way by doing the right thing, plus why would he want history that Oklahoma was never a part of. None of the SuperSonics will even step foot in that building and many have been asked to.

Its like a battle of incompetent owners. Shultz was an idiot selling to a group from Oklahoma, and the Maloofs...well they just can't run a successful business from the sounds of it.

They can't. The city of Sacramento didn't help with the new stadium. It sucks for the Kings fans, if the gm would only try to put a decent team out there, and not try to make a profit.

Im sure your right about his emails. I dont doubt for a second that he wanted to move the team all along, but when it went to vote in 2009 to improve Key Arena and keep the team, the Washington Senate didnt even vote on house bill 6116, thus making it WAAYYY to easy for Clay to move the team.
I for one could care less about the Kings moving or not, they havent been good in a long time. I do forsee a rivalry with the Thunder and a relocation team to be named later in Seattle.

You couldn't improve Key Arena. It was maxed out and renovated like a decade before Clay bought the team. Clay wanted a $500 million dollar new building. I don't expect people from Oklahoma to feel sorry for Seattle or anything, but I think just some general understanding would be nice. Seattle built brand new state of the art MLB and NFL stadiums that tax payers had to partially fund in the early 2000's. And Clay wanted the tax payers to pay for $300 million on another new arena. So you got 3 new stadiums that are asking for increased taxes and $600 million in public funds, all within a 8 year span in a medium size market during a recession. When you have multiple options for entertainment like hiking, skiing, boating, MLB, NFL, MLS, WNBA, UW Huskies, minor league baseball and hockey, theme parks, etc. its hard to ask for the tax payers to just roll over and just pay a kings ransom. Call it bad timing, whatever, but the current economic plan to build a new arena is a lot less of a hardship than what Clay was asking.

Not bad to have NBA, WNBA, MLB, NFL, NHL, MLS, minor league hockey and baseball, and a major NCAA program that is putting over $250 million in stadium renovations to go along with all the other entertainment options and cultural history the Great Northwest/Puget Sound/Cascade Mountain Range offers. Only other state on the west coast that offers that is California, but unlike California all those options are within a hour radius of Seattle. I miss it until I remember all the rain lol.

Really though I'm done talking about it. I'm more pumped for a NHL franchise and to get an old rivalry back with Vancouver, BC. With the new arena proposed it sounds like that will happen. I'm a casual NBA fan but I know many people back home who loved the SuperSonics and I feel bad for them. I don't hate the fans of Oklahoma, they seem like good fans. Trust me people of Seattle hate that Starbucks :lanekiffin: er Howard Shultz a lot more than Clay Bennett. Clay could do the right thing though and give Seattle back its SuperSonic history so guys like Gary Payton could have his jersey retired in the city he loves and wants to be part of. Just give us our banners, retired numbers, and history. Oklahoma should want that anyways since they are building their own history that the fans are familiar with.

New Orleans Jazz = New Orleans Hornets
Charlotte Hornets = Charlotte Bobcats
Seattle SuperSonics = Seattle Kings

I'm sure there are more I'm forgetting (just in the NBA)...why cities get rewarded for non-support I'll never understand.

What should happen is reward a city/state that had pro Bball with the ABA but wouldn't be absorbed by the NBA. Had good attendance. Good following. Now has the KFC Yum! Center to play in.

Kentucky Colonels = Louisville Thoroughbreds (T-breds or "Breds" for short)...either that or MY personal favorite:

THE Kentucky Bourbon Ballers

Holla!!!!!

The Utah Jazz is so Original Image: http://www.sectalk.c.../lanekiffin.gif in lame. A bunch of white people in Salt Lake City have no idea about the cultural relevance Jazz means to NOLA. Look at the colors, they are Mardi Gras colors ahhhhhh! Okay I gotta go, I'm getting hot now.

I'm not going to act like I read all that, and you don't act like MLS and WNBA are entertainment.

You read it. Don't lie. LOL

Yeah I don't know what they fallow in Oklahoma? The least important franchises in Seattle.... MLS Sounders had the highest attendance at 43,000 average. The WNBA Storm, I don't know, but I know they are one of the top teams in attendance.

I don't know what other entertainment they have in Oklahoma to compare? Shetland Pony Races? Rodeos? Milking Cow Races? Lumberjack Olympics? Who knows. The point is made. Oklahoma has one(1) franchise just like Portland. Unlike Portland though they have one of the smallest arena's.

Oklahoma is like North Dakota.

Oklahoma is like North Dakota.

The only Shetland Ponies I have seen pull the Sooner Schooner, I've never been to a rodeo, or milked a cow, the eastern half of our state is covered in trees, they might have lumberjack contests, I have no idea.
Our primary source of entertainment are the Thunder, OU, OSU and Tulsa, an the minor league affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers, the OKC Barons.
We also have these crazy contraptions called TV's that connect us to almost any sporting event in the world. They are connected to cables that go underground or things mounted to the top of our houses. Pretty crazy technology here in Oklahoma.

Damn it I forgot Tornadoes. Spring time around OK in the evening you can get some pretty good entertainment watching tornadoes as long as they aren't headed to your house.

Seattle should have never had their team poached in the first place. That place is a solid sports city, just looks at Seahawks games.

We won't count the Mariners because they're no better than a AAA team.

OKC was lucky to get their team and it sucks that Seattle had to go through that.
