No team in the East will be or should be in the top 5 preseason. UGA, UF, and USC are all losing too much on defense to be ranked that high.
Top 10? Yes.
Top 5? No.

UGA's offense will be the difference. UF loses a lot on defense, but their offense blows. USCe lost Lattimore. UGA returns the entire offensive unit that led the nation in yards per play. Dawgs will be picked to win the East again and the hype of a returning Murray + Gurshall will have them ranked in the top 5 pre-season, IMO.

the SEC could be even better next season. I think UGA loses too much to go undefeated on the defensive end, but their offense could make them a contender for the SEC title. LSU should get better QB play, and always have a sick defense.
Anyways my prediction is it will be:
1. Bama
2. Texas A&M
3. Oregon
4. Stanford
5. Ohio St.

And the Dawgs are losing what 9 starters on defense? UGA will be good, but not top 5 good.
Plus we haven't had Lattimore and still have lost one game in the past two years without him.
UGA will be picked to win the East, but that doesn't many anything about rankings. I think UGA will come in at 7th.

How many starters did Alabama lose on D prior to this year again? Obviously we aren't Alabama, but our defensive recruiting the past few years has been on par with them. Plus, it's not like our defense was dominant this year. We've got enough talent to reload on defense. They won't be top 4 in the SEC, but they won't need to be. Our offense is going to be darn near impossible to stop.
5th, 7th, whatever. Too close to quibble over. After our first two games if they go well, Dawgs will be top 5 or top 3 anyway.

I think USCe is a darkhorse and the favorites in the East next year.

I think you'll be sadly disappointed to find that UGA won't drop off.
Bama's defense has waaaaaaay more national respect than UGA's. As it should be. Saban>>>>>an other defensive coach.
And yes UGA's defense will drop off enough to give you 2 loses in the next year. Defense wins the SEC not offense.
