Yeah, but I think if Georgia had won against Bama in the SECCG, last night wouldn't have been much different.

The best regular season in sports has given us the worst championship game in sports 2 years in a row. 21-0 & 42-14

2004

or

2012

2004 Orange Bowl was atleast competative at the end of the 1st quarter 14-7. This game was over by then. Bama could of scored on the last play of the 1st quarter to make it 21-0.

georgia was never going to beat alabama!  but i agree in part...most of the upper eschelon sec teams would have beaten notre dame...and you can probably include vandy in that as well...

Probably not going to have another good one unless 2 SEC teams are in it (and that's not necessarily a guarantee), or these programs from other conferences break from habit and start recruiting some blue-chip defenses for a change.

Every year we learn these OOC teams acquire the kind of offensive players that make cfb like a video game; but incredibly, after winning 9 of the 15 BCS titles, and the last 7 in a row, it still hasn't occurred to them how the SEC does it. DEFENSE DUMMIES.

It's funny to listen to Pac-12 and Big 12 fans make fun of SEC offenses and claim they're boring and pedestrian every regular season; only to learn in the post-season every year that they only look that way against top SEC defenses, but against the lame OOC defenses they have no trouble putting up 30 or 40 points at will.

And they also get to watch the tables get turned on them when their juggernaut offense that crushed opponents all year gets reduced to an incompetent mess in the face of a real SEC defense.

Because these other conferences haven't done anything about the defensive disparity in all this time, I sometimes think they've consciously decided to keep playing their exciting, but ineffective brand of ball to keep their fans in the seats. Sure, they'll never compete with teams who actually play real defense, but the Arena League offenses will keep fans in the seats, because they obviously like those basketball score games.

Last year was the worst BCS game ever. It blew. Boring as hell. At least this year it was fun to watch.

Definitely this years was the biggest dud, with all the hype about the end of the reign of the SEC and the return of ND. Then everyone turned on the game and watched Bama destroy the poor Irish

i for one loved this game and really enjoyed watching the irish go down in flames...and its really humorous watching all these analysts start backpedaling, after proclaiming the irish as the next champions, the team that was finally going to end the sec streak!

Here's the real sad part:  If Ohio State had not been banned, the MNC game would have been Ohio State v Notre Dame.  Even after that humiliation, the idiot pundits have ND ranked #4 and the BCS still has them as #1.  I can't wait for a playoff system.  It will help eliminate the prejudice that's developed against the SEC.

no, the sad part is that alabama would have dealt a beating to ohio state as well...

And what of Notre Dame?  No, it's as I said, if not for Ohio State being banned from post-season play, they would have played an undefeated Notre Dame for the Championship.  Bama would have been out.

i understood what you said, but my point was that even if the championship had been played between notre dame and ohio state...neither team would have been better than alabama!

The worst was the Florida Ohio State game.
