All of it is mentioned to hammer home the obvious: The Tide have made this run through (arguably) the most powerful SEC in history. Focus less on the 7-3 record against top 10 teams since 2009 and more on the 23 games played against ranked teams in that span. That's equivalent to almost two seasons of top 25 challenges.

A third BCS title in four years would match the career numbers of Barry Switzer, Darrell Royal and Woody Hayes (three titles each). Alabama seniors could boast more national championship rings in their four seasons than Bobby Bowden or Joe Paterno (two each) had in their combined 100 years as head coaches.

A fourth title would tie him with Notre Dame's Frank Leahy and put Saban two away from tying Bear Bryant. You see where this could be headed. Immortality.

And if the do it, they will have done it by beating a team who had already beaten them, won the SEC, and finished with a better record and by making it to the NC in a year where several teams with the same record had a better SoS.

Honestly, yes, the SEC championship pretty much IS a prerequisite to go to the BCS championship. It's sent a team there for seven straight seasons.

You probably should direct your whining at CBS and Dennis Dodd since they are the source of your unhappiness.   I'm just trying to enjoy this championship run while it lasts.

You'd probably be more happy if you chose another hobby besides college football.

I'm pretty sure that college football is not my only hobby despite you insinuating that you somehow know all about my life.

I'm just saying that its hard to rank this time as a historical dynasty when you haven't even won the SEC three times in four years. Y'all were truly great in 2009 but you've merely been good since then.
