Did anybody notice that he doesn't seem as passionate on the sidelines as he used to be? He seems sort of apathetic these days.

Exactly what I'm seeing.  It seems to affect the whole game, though.

i wish some team would swoop in out of nowhere and hire him away.  we need hud badly.  any assistants we have worth a shit are hired away and we are left with the picked over skeleton crew that couldnt coach their way out of a paper bag.

This is hilarious

We (an unranked team) lose to a ranked team

Still in the game in the 4th despite 4 picks

I will never be angry at Merlin for losing to ranked teams because I will expect it until we have an Merlin All-MSU team that is better (or even comparable to) the Merlin All-WHIFF team.

mullen has done a good job coming in and changing the culture, but as we hemorrhage our best coordinators every year, its becoming more and more apparent that mullen has reached his ceiling.  thats pretty undeniable.  so, where does that put us?  do we accept losing 5 of the last 6?  thats not ok.  mullen has earned the right to make coaching changes which are absolutely necessary before we start calling for his head, BUT if we do not make changes to the coaching staff, we will get the exact same result.

apparently, mullen agrees somewhat because he relived wilson of his defensive playcalling responsibilities and allowed collins to call schemes....so at least he recognizes that there is a problem.  as a result, i think many would agree that our defense performed better despite what the score showed.  we have to make a serious attempt to drastically improve our coordinators.  they are terrible.  we will never advance if we replace our 4* coordinators with 2* talent.  mullen has lost his vision....also pretty undeniable.

i think another poster on another site said it best when he said mullen didn't raise our ceiling like we all thought he did, he raised our floor.

this love affair with hud has substance.  hes a damn good coach and apparently is capable.  mullen is a decent coach but our quality on the field drastically fluctuates with the quality of our assistance.  on top of that, we get exposed in various areas and they are never addressed or corrected and allowed to fester.  if he fails to make an obvious qb change today, questioning his ability is totally fair game....moreover, i question his intelligence.  that said, im willing to at least give him a shot at trying to correct this ship but i would absolutely force him to change coordinators.  that shit i saw today was inexcusable.

Complacency is a terrible thing

I never said I wanted him fired. Just said I wasn't on the bandwagon any more.

Lol, coaches that "lose their team" don't make it to any bowl game.
