dan mullen was the problem today. that was the worst gameplan ive ever seen. he was completely out coached by pat fitzgerald in every aspect of the game.

The fact that you idiots blame Merlin's inability to modify our offense to fit with our TOP talent on Russell is astounding.
Meo and I warned you all about Mullen. When you're like me and hate every coach on campus, it's easy to be right!

while we are all patting ourselves on the back, let me be the one to point out that i was the first to criticize mullen his first season, but lets not act like hes garbage. he goes as our assistants go. if anything, he has brought some stability to our program...of which i am grateful, raised expectations, got us in the spotlight, but i dont trust his judgment any longer. we can win under mullen and we can beat some good teams but we cant do it with the current staff. mullen is the one pulling everything together, but the coordinators are the ones pushing the wright or wrong buttons. it just scares me that he is missing the obvious.

I argue that we can win with Russell.
I estimate we can win 8 games.

and i like our '09 and '10 offensive schemes......for us to be successful, we have to be different than everybody else and in this college football landscape, that means being a spread team. we are no longer a spread team.
gimme our '09 and '10 offensive scheme with a sec caliber o-line with the '10 defensive scheme and we can win 11 games.

8 wins eh? sounds like a random and arbitrary number. it would be impossible....mark my words...IMPOSSIBLE for a football team lead by tyler russell to win 8 football games especially in a fashion where the first 7 games were victories followed by 3 losses another win and two more end of the season losses. that simply cannot happen and will never happen. 52-0.

whitley has been a totally different player for us this year than his prior history at msu. that is undeniable. what happened was an injury.

You guys wont beat Oklahoma State in the opener next season if Russell plays like he did today.
and for the meo's, and whatnot, the "i was right" crap can stop, im pretty sure most of us have voiced negative opinions about everyone involved at different times (coordinators)...i have never been the 200% mullen cause i knew other coaches can win here too and i dog the hell out of him but lets not act like he should never have been here...i love what he has done for us but as much stupid crap he does, there are only a few coaches i want over him...i mean the honeymoon is over but my honeymoon was over when tyson lee kept an option a the 1 a few years ago...mullen has to learn and he hasn't, therefore i am mostly indifferent about him because he really does have the potential to be great but the progress in the last few years hasnt been there...

Mullen got yall out of that "crap hole" and made yall a team that everybody must plan for or he will beat you. Yall are waiting on the next step. That next step didn't come this year but it can come opening game next year. With all the money each university gets now, with all the good coaches being hired in the sec and all the talent being recruited by each coach there has to be years that teams don't materialize and play to their winning potential. No way out of it cause we all can't win. Somebody gotta lose. With that said it is possible to see more patience with keeping a head coach if the potential to turn it around is seen. It will get harder on bama, lsu , ga and fla to play in atlanta and it will be harder for the rest of us to reach atlanta because of it. This league is steadily changing and one year a team could go 5-7 and the next go 10-2 just because of how the ball bounced in a few games. Find your own personality for the team, coach to it and play ball. Don't try to play bama football against bama talent. Won't work. Play msu football with msu talent and there will be years you will hold all the cards as well as years you don't.

My life doesn't hinge on being right, but when clowns like you leap at my throat for years for pointing out Merlin's obvious flaws as a coach, I'm going to point out when I'm right, which is almost always.
