I haven't listened to that new Neil Young album yet.  Been meaning to give it a shot.  I dig that Alabama Shakes album a lot.  There haven't really been any albums released this year that have blown my mind, but I've liked the new stuff from The Sword, Gary Clark Jr, Soundgarden, and the Flaming Lips off the top of my head.  I'm glad you mentioned that Japandroids album.  Getting it now.

@PuddingTime heck yeah to some Gary Clark Jr...

Big Congrats to Athens Brittney Howard and the Alabama Shakes for winning Rolling Stones song of the year with Hold On. Love seeing my community and that Muscle Shoals sound coming back.
"I didn't come to Alabama to win 10 games a year and be a contender. I came here to win championships, Conference Championships, and National Championships. I love it here because that's not just what I want, but what this fan base expects." -Alabama Head Football Coach Nick Saban

Seems like in general bands from the South have been seeing an upswing on the national level the last couple of years.
