Interesting numbers.

Arkansas being so high doesn't surprise me, after the season they had, I can understand the desperation of needed to get some more experience on the field for a quick damage control season.

Heck, Weiss at Kansas signed 11 I believe.

Experience wasn't our problem.

Alfy Hill going to USC? Meh I was still hoping he'd come back to us. NCAA did him dirty.

We're still working on some guys but obviously many of ya'll have had a head start on us.  Stoops got two great commitments in Borden and Smith.  As I'm sure some of ya'll know, Borden is the son of WCW wrestler Sting.  He's a great blocking TE who has some good size.  He'll certainly be an upgrade for us.  Smith is a killer DE...can't believe we got him.  Getting him the same day Stoops told many of Joker's commits that they weren't going to fit into the vision he has for Kentucky football sends a big message....Kentucky is done Posted Imageing around.

dammit....this has been one of our secrets to success when we are able to have some success on the field....but if you whiff on some jucos, it gets bad really quickly.  see the last jackie years in starkville.

mississippi state and ole miss do hold a slight advantage because the mississippi juco system is the best in the nation.  if it wasnt for the juco system, we would have been in serious trouble.  it allows you to account for unexpected busts in recruiting and is a boost for the players.  vick ballard, kj wright, chris white, fred smoot all come to mind immediately when i think juco and they are all nfl guys.  ms gulf coast cc has been producing d1 talent for a while now.

It is us and Vandy. Calling all Vandy fans so we can watch them say that they are too good for JUCO recrutis. Then of course, Anchor Down!

I don't really care for the JUCO route, but that may be because of how poorly we used it during the Holtz years. If you start using it too much it becomes a self perpetuating cycle, as you'll find yourself having more holes to fill more frequently. And it seems most of them don't make a huge impact. Comes in handy for depth, but generally the teams with more JUCO's are less stable and less successful.

Sherrill lived by it.  Then he had a bad year and it all went to hell.

We're trying to decide between Parsons (HS Sr) and Vandenburg (JUCO with 3 to play 2).
