My opinion for all the yards:
knowing he wasn't gonna play Geno at CB this game (continued punishment for dui), and especially after Belue went out with injury, I think Saban thought "I'd rather make JF throw from the pocket than run like wild and occasionally in the midst of the chaos, hit a guy coming to the ball"...........I believe he thought our defensive backfield had a better shot at hanging with rcvrs running routes than they would keeping up with rcvrs coming back to the ball while JF runs around like a madman. I'm sure he knew it was a "this poison versus that poison" scenario, conceding yards versus losing the game and having a wore out defense from chasing his ass around.
Now of course Saban had no clue our defense would give up SO MANY yards but JF and the freak throws that would normally be dropped, bobbled or intercepted, just can't be planned for
I don't believe the Tide's defense is pourous, I don't believe it to be a weak link this year and I do believe we will finish in the top 5 overall defenses in the country this year.
