SEC Gambling Lines - Week 11

Everyone knows that last week I was just kidding about my picks - right? It was a very lousy 3-9 for last week, which brings me to 26-28-1 on the year. In the hypothetical bet $100 per game world, that takes me to DOWN $480. Unacceptable. if anybody wants to help me make my car payment this month, just shoot me a pm...

We're going to correct that this week. This is an interesting week in the SEC as we WILL know who wins the East and we SHOULD know who wins the West. And now the games.

God's Conference:

Vanderbilt
Mississippi - 3

Texas AM
Alabama - 13.5

Georgia - 15.5
Auburn

Missouri
Tennessee - 3.5

Arkansas
South Carolina - 14

Mississippi State
LSU - 14.5

Louisiana-Lafayette
Florida - 26.5

National Games:

Kansas State - 7
Texas Christian

Oregon - 28.5
California

Notre Dame - 19
Boston College

We start with 2 teams that have been perennial basement dwellers in the SEC of late. One seemed to have taken a step away from this disgrace and one that everyone expected to stay put. And the roles reversed about midseason. But Vandy has turned it around the last few weeks while Ole Miss took a step back by getting drubbed in Athens. Rebels become bowl eligible this week & put an explanation point of CHF's candidacy for COY by smoking the 3 point line.

Who would have ever thought that Aggie would have made such a strong showing their first year in the SEC? Many pundits have been saying that aTm posses a stronger threat and matches up better with Alabama than LSU did. The line opened at 16 and has dropped to just under 2 touchdowns. The Tide secures the SEC West this week and does it going away.

It's not such an interesting game in the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry. The history of this rivalry is that the weaker team has often spoiled the party for the stronger one. not this year, the War Tiggers will get 3 wins, but it won't happen this week. Dawgs nail down the East with a big win.

Now, back to talking about bowl eligibility and hot seats. With four wins and games against Mizzou, Vandy & UK; the vols SHOULD get bowl eligible. Win all 3 plus the bowl, and Dooley probably returns at the helm next year. Vols win, but take the Tigers and the points.

South Carolina has had a pretty disappointing year considering the expectations coming in and the excitement after humiliating Georgia. They also have struggled against the Razorbacks. Even with all of the key injuries, gamecocks will notch the W, but take Arky and 2 touchdowns.

Do the Bayou Bengals have a hangover after last week? Are the Bullies really a legit "mid tier" SEC squad? LSU wins this game, but not by more than 2 touchdowns. It's always the "hook" (half point) that gets you, but Bulldogs fight hard to re-gain respect and cover the spread.

Who knows what to make of the guys from Gainesville? Curb stomp Cocky, beat LSU and then almost screw the pooch against Mizzou? And they are favored by a mile over a halfway decent mid major team? No way the Gators lose, but give me some Rajin' Cajuns and 26.5 facing off against UF's anemic offense.

The Power Cats don't do anything except keep winning. How, pray tell, did the line against TCU open as a 'pick 'em"??? Yes, it has shot up to 7, but something smells funny here. I don't think the Horned Frogs pull the upset, but take those points.

The Oregon Ducks looked very impressive last week. Except on defense. Problem is, the golden Bears really can't score against decent teams. Donalds cover big.

How did Notre dame almost blow it against Pitt in South Bend? Hey Irish, no style points for you! And now they come in favored by 19?? Good thing the Eagles are 1-5 in the A She She! Catholics get their style points this weekend.

A re-cap:

Mississippi - 3
Alabama - 13.5
Georgia - 15.5
Missouri + 3.5

Arkansas + 14
Mississippi State + 14.5
Louisiana-Lafayette + 26.5
Texas Christian + 7

Oregon - 28.5
Notre Dame - 19

A&M intrigues me but I've learned to not bet against Bama.
Bama vs.aTm opened at 56 o/u with the Bama at -16, currently it has moved up as high as 58o/u and 56.5 at some places and line down to -13.5. Looks like they are trying to get some action on this game. Bama  winning by at least 2 touchdowns and a score 28-30 a team for the over.
I am taking the points and the over on aTm's Super Bowl Sat., this is the game where aTm puts it all on the line and finishes it's season. This is Prime Time 2:30 Saturday football, the SEC, and the West, getting to play the Defending National Champs and current #1. It doesn't get any better than this! A very close game could get us a better bowl. Losing to Florida -3, LSU-5, and Bama by less than 7 or 8 is a win. This would be a big win for our program and recruiting.
Next 2 games are against Sam Houston State and Mizzou. and they are both sold out at Kyle Field.
Bama doesn't cover the 13.5 and the score is over the 56.5
Smart money's coming in on Vandy in the late betting.

VU in a close one, 24-21.
4-6

damn you Ole miss

damn you Arky

damn you Tennessee
