SEC Gambling Lines - Week 10

We are now full swing into the critical part of the season. Coaches will tell you that they ARE NOT watching to see what other teams do, they will tell you that all they care about is taking care of their own business. Here's a dirty little secret - NCAA Football Coaches LIE.

Especially those that have a shot but need others to lose for them to move up. It's the same every year... On the gambling, my record improves to 23-19-1 after last week. That means $2,300 won and $2,090 lost. Still not enough to take to the casino, but at least we're not looking at a loss...

This weeks games:

God's Conference:

Vanderbilt - 7
Kentucky

Tulsa
Arkansas - 7.5

New Mexico State
Auburn - 22

Alabama - 9.5
LSU

Missouri
Florida - 17

Mississippi
Georgia - 14

Texas AM - 7
Mississippi State

Troy
Tennessee - 18.5

National Games:

Pittsburgh
Notre Dame - 16.5

Oklahoma State
Kansas State - 9.5

Texas
Texas Tech - 7.5

Oregon - 8
Southern Cal

Vandy started the year looking like a team on a mission, taking SC to the wire in a game that was arguably decided by a blown call. And then we saw "the same old Vandy". But something funny happened on the way BACK to the SEC basement. The Commodores found a pulse! Look for the 'Dores to make it 3 SEC games in a row, but take the Wildcats and the points.

The Razorbacks are another team that was written off and then looked like they were on the road to making some Chicken salad out of a Chicken ca-ca type season. Then they blow a game against the team that EVERYONE said had the worst talent pool in the conference. Up this week, an inspired Tulsa team that knows how to win. This game is CRITICAL if Arky wants to go bowling. I think they scrape by, but this COULD be an upset. Take the Golden Hurricanes plus just over a touchdown.

Does anybody really care what happens on the Plains this weekend? Auburn's game against NM State would be painful to watch. Me? I'll look for the box score to see how my pick does... War Tiggers get the W, but Aggies cover 22.

How do you transition from the WORST game of the week to the BEST game? Bayou Bengals vs Crimson Tide. One team keeps the dream of the 2012 Crystal Football alive, one team starts thinking about whether or not they are looking at the Cotton Bowl. It's being played at The Red Stick. At NIGHT. LSU has not lost a home game in a month of Sundays. That streak ends this weekend. Bama wins and covers.

Down in the Swamp, Florida still has much to play for. Believe it or not, the Gators are still in the Mythical National Championship hunt. Mizzou is really just hoping for a bowl game. You gotta hate it for the Tigers that they face UF in a "bounceback week". Gators cover easily.

The Georgia Bulldogs are another team that still has championship aspirations that are still alive. They are also a team that is due for a letdown after their biggest win of the year. Plus, they face an inspired and improved Rebel team that has really turned things around. Won't matter this week, Dawgs take care of business at home.

This next game is one of the toughest for me to call. Two upstart teams that have greatly exceeded expectations. Texas A & M really does look strong. But so does Mississippi State. I expect that the Aggies will find a way to win, but expect State to keep it close at home, an upset is very possible here.

Now that Dooley's Junkyard Vols have lost to EVERY "big name" team they have played, they finish the year with the softer side of the schedule. Up this week, Alabama's Men of Troy. Vols sleepwalk through this one.

Is it really possible that Notre Dame could run the table; yet, still be left out of the big national championship party? Yes, it is. I don't think it is likely (mostly because they are the biggest TV draw in college football), but it COULD happen. Irish win big and get some much needed "style points" on their resume.

Kansas State, are they legit? The gambling public seems to think so or they would not be favored by 9.5 over a very respectable program. It's too much. Cowboys in an upset, but take the gift points.

Why are we talking about Texas? A couple of reasons: 1) they are one of the teams that can keep K State out of the big dance 2) they are favored to LOSE by a bunch against Tubberville's boys. And I mean a bunch. the Red Raiders are the Longhorn's new "little brother" now that Aggie has taken his ball and boot, scoot boogied to God's Conference. Look for another 'upset" and get some more free points as Texas retains supremacy in state.

"Come to sunny southern California!" he said. "You will play for a National Championship!" he said. Silas Redd must be so excited about his senior season as the featured back for the Condoms! Now he gets to play one of the best teams in the game, oh the fun never ends... Ducks win, but So Cal covers 8.

A recap of this weeks winners:

Kentucky + 7
Tulsa + 7.5
New Mexico State + 22
Auburn - 22

Alabama - 9.5
Florida - 17
Georgia - 14
Mississippi State + 7

Georgia will not cover.
You could make a KILLING on the Oregon/USC game. How is Oregon only favored by 8?

I was thinking the same.
I'd take Texas Tech and feel pretty good about it too.
Bama by 10? Thats a little much, I would have guessed 6.5
This won't be the 3rd SEC win in a row for VU. Florida beat us after we beat Mizzou.

the line keeps going down everyday it seems like.
I have a feeling Ole Miss has a good game against UGA so I'm staying away from that one.

You're taking MSU +7? I gotta go A&M on that one, haven't been sold on MSU all year and that was before they were killed by Bama.

Going Bama because I'm a homer and not sure how LSU scores.
I think Oregon and Kansas State are easy locks.  I'm still confident and taking Alabama but its not as safe as those two.
I'm taking Bama as well. Lock of the year at 9.5.
Holy shit, that black chick on the left.  Wowza

Dat face
College Football Spreads/Picks

Vanderbilt - 7
Kentucky

This could be Vandy's last win even as crappy as Auburn, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Missouri are this year they could still finish 5-7.  Vandy covers 21-10.

Tulsa
Arkansas - 7.5

Arkansas by 7.  It's a dawgfight as Arkansas has their stuff sort-of together now even under the John Smith crapolege.  34-27

New Mexico State
Auburn - 22

Auburn wins by 3 scores but does not cover the spread.  The wheels are off, but talent and just going through the motions wins this game for Auburn. 31-16

Alabama - 9.5
LSU

Bama starts slow, but smokes LSU 31-10.

Missouri
Florida - 17

Florida shuts out Mizzou and covers the spread.  24-0

Mississippi
Georgia - 14

Mississippi covers.  This is an interesting matchup and I could see The Rebels being in this one late and winning.  I think the Dawgs affect the QB and win 20-10.

Texas AM - 7
Mississippi State

I really want to see those MSU DEs get after Johnny Manzeil.  This game is a shoot out and I actually think it may favor MSU.  37-34 MSU

Troy
Tennessee - 18.5

Who cares?  Tennessee is broken.  UT will run hard and win, but they don't cover the spread.  31-17

National Games:

Pittsburgh
Notre Dame - 16.5

I like Sunseri at Pitt, but the ND defense is too much for him to handle.  28-10

Oklahoma State
Kansas State - 9.5

Kansas State smokes OSU Cowboys the way an SEC team would.  48-17

Texas
Texas Tech - 7.5

Texas Tech covers the spread.  Tommy T. has Tech overachieving this year while Texas underachieves.  The difference is that Texas Tech's defense is legit and Texas sucks on D.

Oregon - 8
Southern Cal

Oregon covers.  I want them to lose, but no way in this one.  USC is thin and struggling. It makes Kiffin's #1 vote for them at the start of the season seem laughable.  38-21
