Burning Tailfeathers - Hot Seats
Who is on the hot seat and who will the next coach be?
Do you think we can get Jon Gruden?
Is Gary Patterson ready to prove himself in the nation's top conference?
Do we automatically get 5 years of probation and a post season ban if we even think about hiring butch Davis?
Are there enough "Gentlemen's Clubs" in the vicinity to ensure we have a shot at landing Bobby Petrino?
These are the questions that SEC fans of teams that have had seasons below expectations are asking themselves (except for Mizzou - Pinkel is safe for THIS year at least).
Well, Joeker Phillips is already gone. Derek Dooley looks mighty uncomfortable. And poor gene Chizik, just two years removed from the Mythical National Championship is rumored to be interviewing realtors.
John L Smith was really fired before the season began. he would have had to AT LEAST tie in the SEC West for any real shot. The fact that the Razorbacks imploded and won't even go bowling coupled with his unprofessional departure from his alma mater probably makes any kind of job search very difficult for him; nevermind his gaffes and personality miscues...
So we KNOW that 2 teams are searching for a new head man and we THINK it will be 4.
The hottest name out there is Coach Bobby Petrino with the unlikely choice of Jon Gruden as maybe choice 1(a). We are also hearing a lot of talk about Tommy Tuberville, Gus Malzahn, Charlie Strong and Sonny Dykes.
Having said all of that, who do YOU think will land at the 4 SEC schools in the 2012 coaching carousel?
